The Community Action Committee of Danbury, Inc., has celebrated over 30 years of continuous service to the greater Danbury community. CACD’s service geography includes nineteen towns and municipalities in Northern Fairfield and Northwestern Litchfield Counties. The CACD Catchment Area represents a diverse ethnic and economic region. They provide the history of spotlights for reference. Many of the spotlights are one-time events and may contain information that is no longer current.

The Community Service Society of New York is a 160 year-old institution that has been on the cutting edge of public policy innovations to support poor New Yorkers in their quest to be full participants in the civic life of the nations largest city. Network, Inc. was founded in 1991. It is a non-profit agency incorporated in Connecticut serving the developmentally disabled under contractual agreement with the Department of Mental Retardation. Network, Inc. upholds the principle that individuals with disabilities have a right to enjoy the same life experiences as other community members. Network has a 15 member Board of Directors comprised of family members, professionals from the communities and other interested individuals.

Network, Inc. promotes the rights of people with disabilities, provides a forum for the exchange of skills and information regarding disability issues, and promotes a positive image of those they serve. They have been successful in providing the needed support that allows individuals to achieve their maximum independence.
