A Y F N supports and teaches family members with children and youth with emotional/behavioral or neural-behavioral problems to find and negotiate the right family-driven and youth-driven mental health and substance abuse treatment and educational services for their child/youth teach family members to develop a personalized recovery management system built on their individual and community assets and strengths network with other youth, parents and professionals become equal partners in the delivery of family and youth driven best practices in a system of care for Alaskans.

Alaska Youth and Family Network advocates for families and children with social / emotional / behavioral challenges and related disabilities to be included as equal partners with professionals in developing policies, programs and ensuring adequate mental health and substance abuse services, prevention and information for Alaskan children and youth.
